VL Commodore Ute
Stealthy posted pictures of his custom built VL commodore ute on our forum with the rest of his rides...
Plate:1 OF A KND (1 of a Kind)
Model: Was a VL SL station Wagon, now a Ute
Colour: Custom Red (similar to Permanent Red on the VL Group A)
Bodykit: VL Group A Front Bar, Bonnet scoop, side door panels removed
Engine: RB20DET (twincam turbo for those that didn't know)
Power: ???? Bout 180RWKW cause it kills my international!
Exhaust: stock from RB20 with custom Duel 4 inch dumpers located in centre of rear bar (in line with the number plate lights!)
Gearbox: R32 skyline heavy duty 5 speed.
Diff: stock open wheeler til i an afford the 28 spline axels with a spool.
Brakes: stock VL turbo
Suspension: 2.5inch lowered king springs all round, rest stock (Front springs taken out for pics, as the Front bumper is really low)
Wheels/Tyres: 18inch ANZ SENSEI rims chromed, 17inch VS Senator rims Chrome dipped (depends what i'm runnin on the international)
Interior: Custom rear shelf in the standard VL grey colour, Berlina door trims, berlina dash, Custom chequer plate surrounds for glovebox and around steering coloumn, custom black centre console with silver overspray (also same on under glovebox), silver inserts in centre console (shifter surround, berlina add on), VP Calais seats, Fire extinguisher on trans tunnel (passenger side)
Stereo: JVC Deck, Fusion 6.5in fronts, Alpine 6x9s S seriers, DLS 12 inch sub and 2 channel amp in custom box!
Cost: $3,500 purchase (As a wagon), $10,000 in mods and reworking of body, including respray
Tyres Used: None, its only been built for 1 month or so!
Other Mods: Severe reworking of rear section, Tailgate used to make rear panel (didn't want a swinging talegate but can be modded to open, massive bracing to get an engineers certificate, still uses standard wagon rear lights, but tinted, Rear window is from a chirade hatch (it just fits so perfectly)
Build period: 1 year so far
Future Mods: Maybe a full Aero Kit if i can find a set of the Pop up lights with the Aero centre, if not, will get the rest of the Group A kit, andmaybe Calais door moulds.

hey man thats pretty mad. Me and my cousins did the same thing more or less, except we bought the car and had it stripped, the roof cut out and the diff welded up in one weekend. the back doors are welded shut but not painted,the cab isn't sealed but its got a wooden tray in it (though this wasn't done on the weekend). But needless to say it looks like shit and is probably rougher then you could imagine. I might even put some pics on this site.
