Joels HZ Ute

Hi i'm Joel 18 from Maryborough qld.. My first car and still is ... is my hz one tonner... and stands out alot from the rest.... though only runs a stock 308 it still has that beautiful sound of a v8 with extractors through to the 2 and half inch exhaust ... when i brought it was a bit run down and with that i spend about 1 grand on it and did alot of little things to fix it to what it is today.. including new /repaired interior with a refurbished 5.0 litre badge which i put between the two air con vents one the passenger side dash sets it of quite nicly.. also painted dash with vinyl die, also i got bit of a sound system ..pioneer head unit 6 inch speakers ,custom polished wood tray. lowered, new radiator , the addition of side skerts which i picked up cheap and they really set the ute off quite nice.. all my friends when they first saw it where like dam i want it. and still are .... lol their just jeolous.... but every where i go everyone stops and stairs ....but this ute has got it problems.... the paint job.. not the best thing in the world as it is marine paint ...seriously who paints a car in marine paint (was like this when i purchased it) and dam does it chip easily ... so their are stones chips and scratches....... past few weeks i have noticed i now have a noisy tapper just a month or two after i replaced the manifold gasket... also i have had lots of trouble with the 600 cfm holley its running... but i have recently spent 2 hours on the carb figuring out what was wrong which was dirt in the jets.. then i gave it a good tune and now it purs like a kitten....also it is sitting on a set of centerlines that give it that muscle car look... must admit does look good with them on .....and the last problem i have is that when it rains heavily the cowl vent fills up and cant drain away fast enough so it ends up leaking into the cab... so when ever it rains i quickly put it under cover.... oh and i cant forget the wiring dam it think this was done by a 3 year old seriously its all over the place but aleast it works... i am thinking of getting it re-wired.........overall this is a real crowd pleaser... apart from the defects i love it and it is so nice to drive...
