Vinko's VH SL/E

This is my Holden 82 VH SL/E Midnight blue (ex red)with 17' rims, I put on VY calais badges on either side of the back passenger doors and on the center garnish in the middle for my tail lights. I just recently put the VK/VL euro style clear/white tail lights and painted the old orange stripes on the center tail light garnish white to suit the tail lights, I had to take out the old 308 5L V8 engine and put in a V6 3.8L out of a VR Statesman straight in. I've got the oringinal grey VL Calais interior in minus the VL dashboard. It's auto at the moment but when I get my greens I'm chuckin' in a manual what ever I can find. But now she is running very sweet. Still got many more plans for her to come in the future.

If you would know the SL/E is equivilant to the calais it's basically what they called it before calling it the calais. and nah man I recon that engraving he done looks heaps mad n unique n shit, you don't see anyone else engraving thier own shit anywhere do ya. I don't know where you got chat and nasty from to me it looks straight its prob jus the reflection that your talkin bout. He prob jus put in that interior calais badge cause it does look good and aint no copy cat that copies other people and thinks and does things his own way. Don't worry mate they jus jelous why don't you take a look at thier cars and see wat they look like.

But the calais badge and the emblem you carved out looks cheap and nasty, and ruins the look of the car. And i thought the 1st calais was the vk, and the top model vh was the slx?

Air Bag??

I noticed you put a "calais srs airbag" badge in the interior? according to the pictures it does not have air bags and at that age of car, i don't think they would have had air bags?

Thanks man, (sorry that it's too long) At the moment in the interior it has the Grey VL Calais interior and staying that way. I have engraved myself the little glovebox mirror with the slim old school calais badge and on the middle interior rearview mirror I engraved the circle holden emblem in the bottom left corner and the word HOLDEN on the bottom middle and have also engraved the Holden emblem into the back of my console so the rear passengers can see. On the outside I years n years ago my uncle n dad put the electric mirrors, I think the electric windows, cruise cntrl, sprayed it from red to midnight blue, they put on the VK HDT Grille & Wing (wing is very rare) and the body kit, I put on the VY Calais badges on the back doors and tail light garnish and also the interior badge on the console. I wanna put in an electric sunroof, put in new electric windows respray the whole again the same colour inside and out take out everything with a faint airbrushing of lightning around the whole car. I'm gettin rims for her soon, 17' Medusa's (black machined) will do me biiger will lokk better but gotta think of the money in the future aye, put in the all white clear VK/VL tail lights and painted the thin lines on the center garnish white to blend in with the tail lights, chukin in a 5 speed manual wen i find a good and cheap 1 to fit a VR engine as its a auto at the moment derr, make her all neat, tidy and straight and she is all good. then in the future chukin in a V8 back into her but bigger, 5.7 or if can go bigger to a 6.0L. she's been well looked after by my dad n myself.

nice man looks tough not a fan of the spoiler but still wicked. ya think that tool who picked up the chrome strip would have seen there was a vent not a window like all VB, VC, VH - not VK maybe i only picked up on it coz i have a VB and my best mate has a VK

Yeah I'm the owner of the car and I didn't wanna make it look like a VK I got it like that off my dad apart from the rims and tail lights. If you really knew your holdens you would of picked it straight off.not bein nasty jus sayin. The car has it's history (a bad one at that) but now look at her. cheers anyways boys for the comments.

Your right mate. Sorry about my judgment. I must have over looked the back windows. So yeah it is a vh. And now that i look at it more i can see it has a different spoiler and a slimmer boot both of which the vk doesn't have.

its a vh with vk bumpers and grill... you can allways tell becauce a vh has the trinagle window with the black plastic vent an vk's have a full window

The last person who commented is right. This is a dead set vk because it has a hdt grille, clear indicators, plastic side strips and strips of chrome around the bumpers which you will find on all vk's. The vh's had full on chrome side strips and bumpers. The side view it looks similar to todd's vk ss, and i doubt someone would go through all that trouble to make it look like a vk. You'd be better off buying a real one.
