Turbo HD Holden Sedan
Michael sent in some photos of his hot turbo holden, a 1965 holden hd sedan. This baby looks like your typical loved hd holden sedan, but under the bonnet is a highly modified holden engine.
To increase performance, the 179 red motor has been fitted with an MGM turbo manifold, and a garret TO4B ball bearing turbo. Michael runs 15psi of boost, but this is adjustable, and the turbo has a turbonetics delata gate 2. The engine itself is fitted with yella terra stage 4 (road racer) heads, and yella terra roller rockers. Inside the engine are flat top pistons, a lumpy solid cam and lifters, and straight cut timing gears. After recently doing a head gasket, the bore and stroke peasure up to a total of 206ci, a fair bit from the original 179.
Other engine modifications include adding a VH distributor with an accel coil, a stromberg 175cd2 carburettor fed by a carter electric fuel pump with a holley regulator, twin thermo fans and a lightened flywheel. This joins a triple plate hydraulic clutch and a 5 speed steel case toyota celica gearbox. Michael is still running the original diff, with 4:11 ratio.
Other stuff worth mentioning is the 3.5" stainless steel turbo dump pimp which joins 3.5" steel exhaust and a lukey turbo muffler. The car has a disk break front end and rear drums. Helping it look good is new carpet, velor velour and a vinyl interior, speco tacho with a shift light, vdo gauges, a sports steering wheel, and magnum 14" mags, 225r14 on the rear and 205r14 on the front.
Also in the car is a sony 52watt x 4 cd player, alpine speakers and a 12" 800 watt pioneer carbon fibre sub with a sony 444w amp has been recently added for a bit of bass. And of course for a baby like this, the mandatory alarm system and immobilizer.
Great work tiger, we love your car heaps. This is one hot turbo holden, definantly something to be proud of.
