Hey peeps,

having a bit o trouble!
i'm looking at pulling the plastic garnish of the side of
my vk commy (the part on the doors!). Im just worried
that it may tear off the paint or something! What should
I do??? do u need a professional to do this or can is it
only a DIY job? Any help would be much appreciated!

Cheers Ryan

PS: Anybody wanna buy them when i get them off??
Make me an offer!

If you are refering to the pinstriping on the outside, yeah it will rip the paint off, no matter how careful you are, and then if you finally get it off, there will be a shadow of where it was.

All i can suggest is to use a chemical like metho, soak it real good with it and be patient and hope for the best. The metho should release the sticky shit without touching the paint.

Oh right, well don't pull em off unless you are going to repaint the car.

Just use a cheese wire (Metal wire with a bit of wood at each end) and pull it off that way.

I agree with Project VK & Wb
"don't pull em off unless you are going to repaint the car."

However if you do want to pull them off any way, just get them started and pull. There only held on by double sided tape. Give it a wash and polish and have a nice colour coded stripe on you car.
