Hi - I'm a newbee looking to get started on a restore job - have my project car (61' EK). My question is how do i start (apart form the obvious)...

1/. Strip down to chassis - pull everything off it.
2/. Remove fron sub-frame
3/. Take the lot down to be sand-blasted (or dipped)

then?

Prime then start to repair or repair then prime?

Thanksin advance....

Main thing is to have heaps of cash in your back pocket, even if you do all the work yourself.I've spent over 6 grand on my tonner and it aint nowhere near finished.
In regards to rust start small as in doing door repairs and or practise on another car door or panel.Best way to learn. When completed prep and prime to stop surface contamination. No need to pull the body off if it's in fairly good condition but it may be necessary if theres signs of major rust in structual components.
