Hey Jack,
Welcome to the site. Sounds like a good old classic, top choice. It will be a great car for you to learn on, as they are pretty simple, and easy to work on. You could get a few gains with a decent set of extractors, maybe bigger jets in the carb, and tricking up your transmission. Theres been plenty of decent 202 buildups in your time.
However, if it was mine, I'd just lower it, tidy up the body and get some fat rims, then leave it as a cruiser for a while as the 202. Maybe eventually you could do an EFI driveline conversion, putting in either an EFI 202 from a vk, an Rb30 from a VL, or even a 304 injected V8. These will all give you more power stock, and probably be easier to start, you can run straight unleaded fuel etc etc.
You should take some pics and put them up in the Gallery section of the site.
Cheers,
Glen.
