G'day.
i own a 1977 kingswood Hx. i'm rebuilding the Red 202 for my Yr12 project. i'm wondering if anyone/everyone has any good ideas about improving the preformance of the car in a cheapish way. i'm thinking along the lines of improved Extractors/exhaust system, better carby. i'm looking to keep the car standardish, not going along the lines of turbo/s.charger(unless i need to) or more carbies. any help would be great!

Cheapest things to do are extractors, exhaust and carbie (max 320 cfm).
Will still cost you about $600 all together.

PUT A HIGH VOLUME OIL PUMP ON IT,A350 HOLLEY,EXTRACTORS AND AN ELECTRONIC DIZZY FROM AN EARLY MODEL COMMODORE.SPECIALY CONSIDER THE OIL PUMP AS IT'S ALWAYS NUMBER 1 OR NUMBER6 ROD STICKING THROUGH THE SIDE OF A BLOWN MOTORS BLOCK MAINLY BECAUSE THESE JOURNALS DONT GET ENOUGH OIL FROM A STANDARD OIL PUMP.

dude if you want to stay a 6 and want to be a bit diffrent put a hemi 265 in it same length as a 202.a e49 cam and 600 4 barrel and 4 speed you could look at 240rwhp and mid to low 13's and not much more than doing a mild 202 with a pissy 150rwhp think about it

265's aren't around in big numbers anymore and parts to make them get up and go are fairly rare and usually can only be picked up at Chrysler and Valiant swap meets.I agree they proberly are the worlds greatest inline 6 cylinder but it aint just a straight swap over and therefore it may just blow the budjet out a bit.

James, i have just finished my yr12 project wich was rebuilding and fitting a blue 202 into my HX kingswood ute...to be honest i think putting a 12 port head onto your motor would increase performance quite abit. for $1200 i got my 202 to put out 160kw which isnt half bad ive been told

How would I go about doing this? Are there any premade mounts around, or is it a custom job? What about a gearbox (can I bolt the M20 behind this, will the shifter be further back/forward than it is now? Any details would be appreciated.
