hello i have a prob with my cd player that im installing into my kingswood the yellow wire or battery wire has no where to connect as my kingswood never orignal radio didnt come with one, ive had it connected into the red wire's power but it doesnt save the settings and restarts all the time so and ive had enough so where should i connect the yellow wire ive also had it in the accesories feed in the fues box but that didnt work well it did but didnt save the settings also so could anyone please help me

The yellow wire as you probably already have worked out is commenly refered to as the memory wire.

If your having trouble finding a constant power supply, run a new wire from the battery to it.

agreed, just crimp a loop terminal on the end of a new wire to connect to the battery, and run it through the firewall and under the dash, have done this many times, just make sure were the wire goes through the firewall it isnt going to rub through and short outt

Have a poke around under your dash, your clock should have constant 12 volts. If you do have to put a new wire in, put a fuse in as close to the battery as possible, so if it does short out you don't have a fire.
Its never fun when your car starts smoking or flaming due to dodgy wiring.
Also you can buy a cheap multimeter for about $15 if you dont have one, this will tell you which wires have power, and how much, and which is positive and negative.

When ever i do a stero i always hard wire it (strate to the batt) I find that having your music die when ever u shut the car off is anioing as well as sucking a heap of amp's out of an old wireing lumbe on a circit that is already rated for somthing ells can corse major probs like old matty said setitng your car of fire for one .. blowing fuses all the time is unother .. and in a 1972 car ther was no such thing as puling 25 + amps for steros ect .. just buy a wireing kit ther like 30 bucks and come with hevy duty wiring including a decent fuse and then run it thoug the fire wall in a old car like that ya prob woulnt even need to drill holes its prob got heaps of gaps in it already.. do things right the 1st time and ya wont have to stuff around down the road,, like buying a fire extingisher lol..
