Its efi so it doesnt have a dizzy cap! But the leads might be a problem. all it takes is one to throw the engine off on a cold start. Check if the leads are well connected to the coil pack i have a friend who had a problem like that and it turns out that when he got itserviced the didnt push the leads onto the coil pack down enuf, how dodgy is that!

Possibly the cam timing. It's possible the fibre cam gear is split or missing gear teeth and has thrown your timing right out.

Alotstra the VK fuel injected inline 6 does have a distributor, the coil pack started with the VN V6.

Check the engine temperature sensor.
Its blue, has a square blue plug and loctated about 1/3 along the engine from the front on the passengers side.
With time they get brittle and are prone to failure due to its location so close to the extractors and block, getting rather hot.
If this has failed your injection loop thinks the engine is excessivly hot and will screw out the air/fuel mixtures into next week so much that the engine wont even fire.
The sensors are pretty cheap, readily available at Holden dealerships and are also used on the VN series 1 v6 engines.
Hope this helps
Drew

If you have spark at the end of the plug leads you can pretty much rule out ignition. If you have fuel pressure in the fuel rail - they have a valve in the rail to test this I believe, then the next thing to check is if the injectors are 'pulsing'. You can check this by using a stethoscope or long screwdriver up against your ear and crank the engine and listen for clicking noise of the injector. If no clicking the problem is computer or sensor related. If the injectors are functioning and you are sure that spark is good I would be testing fuel pressure with a guage.
That's the way I would attack it anyway.
