throw ur shifter in reverse, then once your doing about 20-30 k in reverse, throw her into 1st and keep your foot planted.

LOL and when you're done, go back and pick up your transmission :P

Actully this can be done, Maybe not with a holden.... Love em & thrash them, Dont trash em...

My brother use todo this in a nissan pulsar hatch back, about 84 model or something, the white straight body type...

When done right, You could reverse past the street *like you drove past then had to reverse back to it* and slam it into 1st and the car would do a lovely 90 degree turn into the street you wanted with a very nice looking entrance... Something you would'nt expect a stock 4 front wheel/driver todo with the way it did,... Not suggesting this is at all good for the car, Just those watching it happen or doing it... Trans never broke, Nor any signs of wear/damage...

If you dont like messing around with your clutch you can do as others do and start in first, drive in circles in open area & if you please goto second or stay in first and give it some revs with a little oversteer or a nice balance and start to spin that way, Once you lose traction you can either apply the brake and bring it to a standstill *Wheels Spinning, Car Not Moving* start creeping it. Other wise just keep the circles going and play with your throttle so you can learn how "your" car wants todo it.

One thing i can not stress enought..... Learn Your Car......
Not just with how it pulls away, brakes, and steers...
But how much the driveline can handle stress wise, Different road conditions. Also with the streets here in adelaide, It does'nt hurt to know the street condition before you are spinning wheels over pot holes...

2 to 3 minutes is a hell of a long time to be doing a burnout there young fella.Theres a lot of preparation to do those big skids you see at Summernats and Motorvation.Little skids on the other hand don't require as much time and money invested in your car but she can still go bang.
