HI , I have just ourchased a 1996 vs startesman, lovely car but It has a slight shudder on takeoff, some times it can be felt in lower gear negotiating an incline - I thought it might be driveline related. would appreciate any ideas you may have. Also what size wheels were std equip on this model? I have 15"
Thanks Matman

Could be a tailshaft slightly out of alignment, uni joints need replacing, broken engine/gearbox mounts, or even something completely different. Best bet would be take it somewhere get an opinion and a quote.

off the top of my head i cant remember the stock wheels that came with that car. They would have been either 15" or 16" though. I had a look through the VS statos in the gallery and they all had aftermarket mags. Take a photo and post it here that might jog my memory.
Otherwise send a pm to IH8FPV , hes a fan of statos around that era.

Look at what BeauGann said, Uni joints are the most probable cause but others are likley cause as well.. Cheers

Thanks guys, will check all that soon as I get a few days off. Anyone know where I might pickup an original radio cassette for 96 vs1?

could be that your tailshaft is out of balance as my mate had a vn commi with really bad shudder and it only happened on inclines.this would mean in turn that you uni joints need replacing and will need to balance your tailshaft
