Brake booster replacement

i am currently rebuilding a hx 1 tonner and was wondering if i can throw away the chunky brake booster and replace it with a setup out of a newer commodore or something. can this be done? what will i need to get/do?

The one tonner boosters differ to the standard booster in wagons and sedans as far as I recall and changing could cause problems in regards to legallity and insuring your car.Not sure if the later commodore ones would fit but it may be worth while checking with your states road authority to see if this change is permitted. :roll:
